8월 12일 William Carey- A true champion for God‘Expect great things from God. Achieve great things for God.’ William Carey
William Carey- an awesome leader, an intellect, a man with a great vision, and a vessel from God. What a life he led! Originally he had wanted to go to India as a missionary. For six long years, he served in a village and went through several trials- weak responses to the gospel he preached and the death of his son. One of the great challenges he saw was Sati- an Indian tradition adopted by some, where after a woman’s husband dies, she must be burnt with him. This was not specified in the sacred text, but instead was an adopted tradition.
After going through these trials, he developed three main visions:
He found help when moving to Serampore by friends of his who were from the Danish crown. He knew a printer who worked on translations of the New Testament. Schools were established and the influence of Christianity began to spread. There were salvations seen, but unfortunately some converts were persecuted by the Indian natives and murdered for ‘betrayal.’
William had a great gift in languages and he went to work in Calcutta for the English government in translating several texts. It is here where he met with an Indian Scholar who was highly influential in the Indian government. Together they worked towards abolishing the Sati.
In conclusion, the life William Carey has been a great inspiration to many people. We can all learn a valuable lesson from him. He showed that by living out his vision and persevering at all times, he could do great things for God.

Soccer/Football is truly the world game and it has united many people from different countries. Its great to see so many people who are very passionate about their country.
BUT!!! Wouldn't it be more amazing to see people who are more passionate about God who has promised us an eternal life. I mean soccer/football is an awesome game and it is cool to get passionate about, but how about getting passionate about a God who loves you unconditionally and will continue to bless you???!!! 1월 25일 IdentityOften in life, we get so concerned by the voice of others. What are others thinking about us? We can also get caught up by the guilt, condemnation and accusation in our lives.
However, God allows us to live lives that reflect who we truly are. We need to listen to what God says about us and live according to that; not others!
2 characters of a strong identity-
1. People that know what God says about them.
In the bible, God embeds his truth about us. Look to the bible, as it is God's truth revealed through his words.

2. People who walk into God's presence and are willing to receive His grace.
We need to walk into the presence of God and allow Him to speak directly to us. One of the amazing things about our relationship with God is that we are recipients of his grace and we can come to him anytime and he can speak to us.
So friends, live according to what God says about you and not others. Then your life will change so much. Just spend some time in worship to him- prayer, bible, and/or song. Let God work in your life!

Often it is easy to feel bad about ourselves and life. But as were nearing Christmas, I want to encourage you to take a positive outlook on life and to treasure the things that you may take for granted (ie- family and friends)

But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. ”- Psalm 1:1-2 Simple words, simple verse, but not so simple application. Sometimes it is so easy to just keep to the crowd and compramise your integrity. This could be something like going to a formal after party and drinking alchahol. The problem with this is that it can just lead you to be in great danger. However this verse can seem like quite a challenge. However if you look at the bigger picture, then isn't it so worth it. Living a life for God, and meditating constantly on his word. What could be better with a strongly built relationship for God. 11월 11일 Coolness! :)Hello. I just want to let you know about our lunchtime school bible study. At Pacific Hills every Thursday, we have a group called Fresh. Here there is a game, some hang time and a speaker. Weve had really powerful weeks where God has touched us all, and last week we got 120 people at a pizza Fresh. It was awesome with 5 really inspirational speakers in our senior school.
Anyway, at Pacific Hills, we are really passionate and on fire for God and I would just ask if you reading would pray for continued growth and Blessings in our Fresh Ministry. |
